چکیده
Advanced coatings are essential to modern technologies as they optimise surface characteristics for different application scenarios. Transparent and self-cleaning increasingly used protective various applications, such foldable touchscreens, windows, solar panels. Moreover, incorporating other functionalities high hardness, wear resistance, flexibility into transparent is important broadening the use cases. Although many kinds of multifunctional have been developed, it still difficult embody several properties in one coating adequately some properties, hardness flexibility, inherently contrastive. This review first describes basic principles, including wettability, photocatalytic reactions, photo-induced hydrophilic phenomena, implication self-cleaning. The desired then listed methods evaluating used. Recent progress preparation coatings, sol–gel, dip/spin, chemical vapour deposition (CVD) methods, also presented. Magnetron sputtering (MS) technology widely preparation. Compared with chemosynthesis CVD, MS time-saving, suitable industrial production, environmentally friendly. Coatings prepared by usually possess excellent mechanical properties. Thus, we highlight current research status according multilayer design structure their optical ability can be controlled combining materials. Finally, materials TiO2 through a obtain overall discussed.

Self-cleaning antireflective optical coatings.
Low-cost antireflection coatings (ARCs) on large optical surfaces are an ingredient-technology for high-performance solar cells. While nanoporous thin films that meet the zero-reflectance conditions on transparent substrates can be cheaply manufactured, their suitability for outdoor applications is limited by the lack of robustness and cleanability. Here, we present a simple method for the manu...
متن کاملA New Approach for Self-Cleaning Silicone-based Facade Coatings
Since being introduced in 1963, silicone resin emulsion paint (SREP) has developed into one of the most modern facade coating systems. While specific formulations and raw materials have changed in the last 42 years, the long-lasting performance properties resulting from the unique combination of water repellency, vapour permeability, low VOC and the silicon-resin based structure have remained c...
متن کاملTiO2-SiO2 Coatings with a Low Content of AuNPs for Producing Self-Cleaning Building Materials
The high pollution levels in our cities are producing a significant increase of dust on buildings. An application of photoactive coatings on building materials can produce buildings with self-cleaning surfaces. In this study, we have developed a simple sol-gel route for producing Au-TiO₂/SiO₂ photocatalysts with application on buildings. The gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) improved the TiO₂ photoact...
متن کاملUltraporous nanocrystalline TiO2-based films: synthesis, patterning and application as anti-reflective, self-cleaning, superhydrophilic coatings.
Crack-free, anatase-based optical coatings with a refractive index down to 1.27, a porosity up to 80 vol%, and a tunable thickness up to 1.5 μm were fabricated. The extraordinary stability of the porosity upon thermally induced crystallisation and template removal was attributed to the combined effects of the presence of 10% molar silica in the inorganic phase, a flash treatment at 500 °C, and ...
متن کاملDurable Self-Cleaning Coatings for Architectural Surfaces by Incorporation of TiO2 Nano-Particles into Hydroxyapatite Films
To prevent soiling of marble exposed outdoors, the use of TiO₂ nano-particles has been proposed in the literature by two main routes, both raising durability issues: (i) direct application to marble surface, with the risk of particle leaching by rainfall; (ii) particle incorporation into inorganic or organic coatings, with the risk of organic coating degradation catalyzed by TiO₂ photoactivity....
